At Drive for Good, we believe that every van and minivan donation makes a significant difference. Whether it’s a trusty family minivan or a cargo van that served your business, your vehicle can support local nonprofits in North Dakota. Imagine your old ride becoming a lifeline for a local family or organization—there’s no better way to retire a vehicle than by giving back to your community.
North Dakota is known for its close-knit communities and vast open spaces, from the beautiful trails along the Missouri River to the bustling neighborhoods in Bismarck. Vans and minivans are among our most requested vehicles, often used for family outings or community programs. Whether running or not, your donation could be that spark for change that local organizations desperately need.

Condition & logistics
Running vs. Not Running
Whether your van is still purring down the highway or parked for good, we accept both running and non-running vehicles. Don’t let that old ride rust away; it can still do good!
Title Issues
If you have lost the title, don’t worry! We can help you navigate the process. However, if there are liens on the van, you may need to resolve those before donation.
Storage/Pickup Logistics
We’ll handle the heavy lifting for you! If you’re in the Fargo, Grand Forks, or Minot area, we can arrange for local pickup at your convenience. No need to stress about transport!
Title transfer & paperwork
When donating a van or minivan in North Dakota, remember to complete a title transfer at your local DMV. You’ll need to fill out the appropriate forms, which can be obtained online or in-person. Make sure to double-check that your title is notarized, and don’t forget to return the license plates. This ensures a smooth transition to the next owner and meets all state regulations.
Tax deduction for this donation
Your generous donation may also offer some financial relief come tax season. Typically, the tax deduction for van or minivan donations ranges from $500 to the sale price if sold for more. Be sure to retain Form 1098-C, which we'll provide, to document your donation and any applicable deductions on your tax returns.
Local context — North Dakota
In North Dakota, vans and minivans often come from families downsizing, local businesses shuttering, or residents relocating. The transition to a new stage in life can leave you with a vehicle you no longer need. With a culture of giving and community support, many North Dakotans see their unused vehicles as a way to help others. Your donation not only clears up space in your driveway but also contributes to a system of local support that thrives on kindness and generosity.
