What we see in this class

How pickup works

We understand that the logistics of donating an ATV, UTV, or side-by-side can seem daunting, but Drive for Good is here to simplify the process. Our team will coordinate pick-up directly from your location, whether that’s a farm, ranch, or your local hunting cabin. Typically, an enclosed trailer or small flatbed pickup is used for transport. For off-road-only vehicles, it’s common to work with a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) and bill-of-sale chain instead of a title. Should your vehicle be stored at a location separate from where you live, we can arrange to meet at that location for a seamless pick-up.

What drives donation value

The value of your donated ATV, UTV, or side-by-side is influenced by several factors. Vehicles with more operating hours than mileage tend to attract better resale value, especially for 4-stroke models. Notably, popular brands like Polaris and Can-Am maintain strong market values. Well-maintained equipment with documented service records can command higher prices, while minor cosmetic damages—like dents and faded plastics—may lessen its value, but a running vehicle still retains a premium. Even non-running units can hold parts value, which positively impacts your donation's worth.

Documentation you need

North Dakota specifics

In North Dakota, the rules surrounding ATV, UTV, and side-by-side ownership differ from standard vehicles. Many off-road vehicles do not require a title for ownership transfer; instead, we often utilize a bill-of-sale or MSO. This makes it easier for donors who may not have a title for their older or specialized vehicles. Local DMV regulations ensure that your donation process complies with state laws while promoting a straightforward transfer of ownership with minimal hassle.

FAQ

Do I need the title to donate my ATV?
Not necessarily. For off-road-only vehicles, a bill-of-sale or MSO is usually sufficient. If you have the title, it's great, but we can work without it.
What models do you accept?
We accept a variety of ATVs, UTVs, and side-by-sides, including popular models from Honda, Yamaha, Polaris, Kawasaki, and Can-Am, among others.
How is the value of my donated vehicle determined?
The value is influenced by factors like mileage, hours of operation, maintenance records, and overall condition. Running vehicles generally fetch higher values.
What if my vehicle doesn’t run?
Non-running vehicles can still be donated. They often have parts value, and together we can assess how to best handle them for donation.
How does the pick-up process work?
Our team coordinates with you for a convenient pick-up location using a trailer or small flatbed. We ensure a smooth collection, whether it’s on your property or at a storage location.
Can I donate a golf cart?
Yes! We accept both gas and electric golf carts in addition to ATVs, UTVs, and side-by-sides. Your donation is valuable to us!
Is there any paperwork required for donation?
Yes, you may need to provide a title, bill-of-sale, or MSO. Also, service records and identification can help streamline the process.
